Communicate attendance results to key stakeholders and the public
The results and conclusions derived from reliable count data are extremely valuable in garnering public support for a project. An example of this can be found in the Danube Bike Path – an exceptional, 150km bike route that passes through four states in Austria. Policy makers there received broad public support for improvements to the path after communicating the attendance data to the public.
The state governments used data from 17 counters and tourist surveys to determine attendance figures and other key metrics on the use and economic benefit of the Danube Bike Path.
Count data can also be used to:
- Assess and communicate the economic benefits of bicycle tourism.
- Provide partners with reports on the visitation rates.
- Publish key attendance figures on a public website.
